My Jewelry Box

It's funny how my taste has changed over the years. I used to be an earring person, wearing big gypsy jewelries throughout my collage years, while I didn't even own a watch or any sunglasses. These days I'm leaning much more towards statement watches and shades and hardly ever wear my beloved earrings anymore. Most of my jewelries and accessories are souvenirs from various trips, including my two jewelry boxes from Egypt and Tunisia. Some people collect magnets I prefer necklaces and bangles! :D It always feels like I take a piece of the culture with me through these jewelries and I love to be reminded of the beautiful places and friendly people I met during these journeys. Lately I've started to enlarge my collection with some vintage pieces and I've got a feeling that it's just the beginning! :) Do you have a special piece of jewelry that you treasure above everything else? I'd love to hear its story! :)

  6. I love to buy clothes or jewelry when I travel too. I'm wearing sandals from Austria today, and I have a turquoise necklace at home that I bought for 10 lira at a roadside stand in Turkey. Both pieces remind me of where I was when I bought them, so I try to wear them a lot!

  8. I love your pieces, they are all so beautiful! I have one prized piece - it's a platinum ring my grandfather had made for my mother for her 13th birthday. It has the most beautiful one karat blue topaz surrounded by pave diamonds set into wings.

  10. Whenever I've lost a grandma, (I had three!) their jewelry got passed to me. The majority of it was costume, but I do have two wedding ring sets (one was my great grandmothers from the 20s). I treasure them all. Great post!

    Have a great day!

  12. Very fun to get a peek into your jewelry box. I too, love to pick up jewelry when I travel-it is always a happy keepsake of the place!

My favorite is a silver bracelet with black pearls that my husband bought me on my honeymoon in French Polynesia from the store Tahia Collins. Recently, I'm loving this bracelet I purchased in Guatemala that has a few Jade beads!

  25. I love that green bracelet. I don't usually wear a lot of jewelry (if any), but my favorite pieces all come from my grandmother. She had a lot of really weird costume jewelry, and I find that I've inherited her taste!

  27. My jewelry tastes have changed as well. Yet I still can't part with some of my favorite pieces. I am much more inclined to invest in a few more expensive pieces if I really really love them. Great blog! xoxo

  35. It has a lot to do with changing tastes and necessity too. I was once a huge fan of those bracelets with big beads, wearing 3 or more loops in each wrist at a time. I even had the ones with dangling beads on them! But ever since I worked the desk daily, I found it got in my way too much. So I just settled for a watch.
