Gypsy*Friday - The Valley of Arts

There are four small villages next to the lake Balaton (the biggest one is Kapolcs) which host the annual Valley of Arts festival in Hungary. This year was the first time I have visited and I am so happy I did!!! Arts, crafts, tradition, music, great food and the strongest drinks you can imagine. It was another great reminder that sometimes the best experiences are just around the corner and you don't have to travel thousands of miles to discover something new, especially if there is so much to learn about your own heritage. It was one of those rare events when I was filled with pride and joy that I'm Hungarian! :)

P.S: The slightly older gentleman on the pictures is my father :)

What wonderful pictures! I would love to visit some place like that. So magical looking, especially the ceramic mushrooms, ceramic gnomes/elves, and the cupboard out in the middle of nature with ceramics in it....WoW!
What a creative way for someone to sell their wares!

Thanks for sharing!
