How to build a lasting relationship

{Drink - Mango Daiquiri, Dress - Bershka, Scarf - Zara, Wedges - Mango, Trench - F&F}

With all things going on we've been performing quite poorly in the dating department with AC. Let's face it, it takes an effort to dress up and go out when two busy people live together. It's just easier to order food, stay in and pass out on the couch.

I'm trying to establish a new relationship rule though... two dates a week (minimum) to go out, see some exhibitions, watch a movie in a cinema (instead of the laptop screen!!) and /or drink some cocktails in a semi-fancy bar. I'm already excited and that is what keeps a relationship alive... excitement! plans! fights! joy! laughter! compromise! Under the new rule we had our "first" date night last night. Delicious dinner, yummy cocktail and a late night walk... definitely a good start! ;)

Are you dating your man often enough? :)

Hey Gabby, I must say you look very stunning. May I add that in colder weather you look even more so radient? :)

Best with your new relationship rule. It is a fantastic idea and one that when I am reunited with my Dutcman will also follow too since it has been lingering in my mind for a long time to make something of a stricter notion to actually keep something like this up.

Btw that image of "Me" in rotation is freaking awesome!

Cheers to dating our men!

Yeah it is hard, especially once you establish some sort of pattern...for us it's been he gets home from work, I cook dinner, we sit on couch eat said dinner and watch tv until bedtime. We are trying to incorporate more, but I know he is tired :)

that is great advice! my hubby and I have date nights every wednesday night where we must leave the apartment and go do something fun together. it really breaks up the week and helps our relationship a ton!!!

You look amazing, I love your outfit. My boyfriend and I have been a couple for 5 years and I do believe in your rule. Dating is definitely must. We are so comfortable with each other, we can go out in sweats and we still love each other, but it is pretty nice to go out all dressed up and made up every now and then too.

it's so true, it's very important to keep "dating", even when you're not living together.

me and my guy only see each other on the weekends, but it's still so easy so stay home and watch movies. So we try to do a dress up and go out date once a month.

it certainly helps to keep things fresh!

good luck!

Dating is so necessary in any relationship! Without dates we just become roomates with our significant others. My man and I have been together 8 yrs and I still love getting dressed up and going out (also without dates some of my clothes would never see the light, or night for that matter)
Cute blog, btw, I am a new visitor! Love, A

amen. we need to get out more! love dates!

So cute! We try to go out for a nice dinner once a week, and a casual dinner once a week. But sometimes the best dates nights are takeout & the couch with our dogs. :-) Though it's always fun to get dressed up!

You look gorgeous!! I love your wedges, especially. I completely agree with this rule. Not dating right now, but when I do again I will remember this!

You look unbelievably stunning and I really mean it :)) Your hair looks rad, too. As for your advice, you're totally right... I am young, but me and my boy are both really busy with school work this year. And when we finally get time, we stay in and cuddle and watch a movie or so... It's really wonderful, but sometimes I feel like "wait a minute, there are so many great places to go to in Vienna, we should do that"... Yesterday it was my birthday and my boyfriend made an amazing surprise for me - I won't go into detail, all will be posted on my blog soon this week, so check for it there please :)) - and it was such a break from the routine. I was actually seeing Vienna like I normally don't - all the beauty and that, things you don't notice when you're thinking about an assessement you have to write and hand in.. :))

love that idea. i must start doing that too. it's just so easy for a couple to get too focused on their own lives that they forget that dating is a life long thing. :) love the shoes!

Sounds like a good rule! And love the shoulder details.

Yes! I completely agree with this!! Even if it's just to go out for bagels and coffee on a Sunday morning, I try and make sure that my boyfriend and I go on little adventures as much as possible!

Definitely date my husband.... We have been married for almost 20 years and we still meet once a week for a lunch date and try do a night date once every 2 weeks. It definitely keeps the relationship alive and interesting. We make sure we don't talk about the kids or work, we just have fun.

Ufff, I have to agree with you in that topic, once you move together, the dating stops. My bf and I got back from vacation a month ago, and I promised we would go out for dinner and/or walks more often... but it didn't last :(
I'll try again though, at least once a week.
