Berlin is the capital of Turkish food (outside of Turkey of course :). I like that they use lots of veggies and surprising taste combinations and it has become one of my favorite cuisines over the years. There are two things that I always always have to order whenever we go to a Turkish restaurant: humus and eggplant cream, oh and Ayran, but that is a drink so it doesn't really count. On a particularly cloudy afternoon I decided to make my own eggplant puree and while it was tasty, I must admit that it was definitely not the best of the best! I was a little bit confused with the recipe as there are so many different ones out there. (with milk, with yogurt, with seeds, with flour...etc) I went with what I thought would be the healthiest, taste the best and took the least time to prepare. Next time however, I'm definitely trying a new one. If you have a tried and tested aubergine cream recipe hook me up and I'll be thankful forever. :)
Happy weekend blogland!

If there are eggplants involved, the recipe is delicious for sure! :o)
I believe that there's also a Greek version which calls for their famous thick yogurt... I've never tried it, though!

Yum, what a great happenstance -- I just bought an eggplant this morning!
Yum! Love the layout and way you presented too!
Hi,
this is one of the favorite Turkish mezze, an appetizer eaten with raki, a traditional Turkish drink. I may suggests something that you can bake the eggplants without cuting it into two. you bake them as whole, and then remove the skins. you should try it also with yogurt. I am sure you'll like its taste.
By the way, this is my first comment to your blog posts. I should say that I love your blog.
Goodday...
