Maxi skirt & Bangles - H&M, Necklace - StellaWishes, Top - Noname, Hat - Claire's, Watch - DKNY,   Ring - from Tunisia, Wedges - Mango

Ladies and Gentleman, meet my first ever maxi skirt! I know that maxi skirts and dresses are pieces that short girls like me should never wear, but guess what, I just couldn't resist! It was one of those items that I looked at, than put back on the shelf thinking I could never wear. Then every time I went back to the store I was wishing I could, until one day I thought screw it, I'm gonna try it on. Thanks to the stripes I think contrary to what I would have expected they actually make me look (and feel) taller, so this is for all of you shorties out there! Maxi skirts are NOT for model sized girl only! Try one on, you'll see! ;)

Are there any clothing items you think you cannot wear?

Girl you have been rocking the 70s chic styles lately, and I am LOVING it!! The maxi skirt definitely works on you. I, as a fellow shorty, thought I couldn't wear a calf grazing skirt, but I did yesterday and ended up loving it!!

I love maxi skirts but I have been afraid to try them because I am shorter. You have inspired me!

I love a good maxi dress, I actually just posted a round-up yesterday:

And I am loving a maxi skirt too although I have yet to add one to my closet. I used to buy into the myth that if you are short you can't wear them (I'm short), but I think they flatter a bunch of different body types and those both short and tall :)

As a shorty, I also fear the maxi skirt/dress. I did decide that this was the year I would get over it though. This skirt looks great on you!

I'm a shortie as well and stay away from maxi-dresses, full-length skirts etc. You look lovely though! x

LOOOVVE your hat and maxi skirt! I'm a size 16 (aus)so I have a lot of clothes I'm too scared to wear.

You look great in this outfit. I used to think the same thing about maxis. Turns out it's all about finding the right skirt for us shorties (and that striped number *definitely* falls into the "right" category!)

Oh I just adore your hat. I have a child sized head - no joke, and hands for that matter - so finding hats, for grown ups, is a serious challenge for me. So cute!

Great outfit! I love the maxi length skirt and the hat is such a lovely touch on the entire ensemble.

I don't think of clothing items as unwearable, but definitely certain ways of wearing items work less for me than others. For instance, I can never seem to pull off the scarf on my head look. Ce'st la vie.

I used to have a problem with maxi dresses/skirts - they reminded me of witches until I put one on and it made me feel super tall, which I clearly am not.

Love this outfit... a lot!

Hope you have a great evening!!

The skirt looks AWESOME on you! I love how the striping goes in all different directions too. and the hat adds sucha cheeky touch (:

I'm so afraid to try maxi skirts because I'm 5'1 and have hips and boobs and fear it'll look ridiculous on me. I'm also not a fan of halter tops because of my wide shoulders/boobs/ I'll have to try both soon and step outside of my comfort zone sometime though (:

Love the maxi skirt!! :) I'm short too and wore a maxi for an outfit post I did awhile ago, I got great feedback from it! :) definatley gave me the confidence to try different stuff ;)

Great skirt!! I've always disagreed with the rule about not wearing maxi skirts if you are petite. I have tons of them, and I think the length actually makes short girls look statuesque.

This is super cool. I love the fedora with the combo. And I love how the majority of the stripes on your skirt are vertical. You don't see that often. Very cool. I am inspired.
