Berlin Street Style: June 2011

As many of you know already I work as a streetstyle photographer / photojournalist for a Berlin based online magazine BangBangBerlin. I wanted to share some of my favorite street styles from June with you here, as I believe that Berliners have a very unique and distinct style which I haven't seen anywhere else in the world. Enjoy! :) (You can see the rest of my work by clicking HERE.) Fashion week is starting in Berlin today, so watch out for much more stylish snaps to come! ;)

Acropolis

It was almost like a miracle. For days we´ve been dreading the climb up to the Acropolis, but as this is the site noone can leave Athens without visiting, we knew we´ll have to do it. Athens can be incredibly hot at this time of the year, with temperatures often rising up to 35 - 40C and with a 7 month pregnant woman, full camera gear and very low fitness level I was definitely not looking forward to it. However, Pallas Athene must have decided to give us a break as the morning of the dreaded climb thick fluffy clouds covered the skies, a light breeze was lingering in the air and in the end, I swear we were almost cold by the time we got up to the Acropolis. We took hundreds and hundreds of pictures and it was much more beautiful than I remembered. Sometimes it´s just worth to climb. ;)

...these are a few of my favorite things...

It's been a while since my last favorites post due to all the traveling, but I do have a few things I've been obsessed with this week that I definitely wanted to show you!

1. The EnRoute logo! I've been playing in Photoshop and I came up with this logo which, to be honest I really like, but I'd love to have your honest feedback as well! I think it's simple, fashion forward yet timeless and clearly travel related with the passport stamp, which I'm planning to incorporate in all my branding materials moving forward. What do you think? I'd also love for you to like my new EN ROUTE fanpage on Facebook where I'll be sharing my new shoots, sneak peeks and inspirations from now on! Like? :D

2. I'm obsessed with this Asian iCandy embroidered messenger bag. I think it will find it's way to my closet pretty soon! ;)

3. I've been looking for the perfect, affordable black leather biker jacket for a long time and I think I've found it! Cannot wait to try it on in Zara this week!

4. I saved my pennies and purschased the Jasmine Star Wedding Photography Workshop from Creative Live (which is pretty much how I spent my last 5 days) and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting to try to establish a wedding photography business! Best $150 I've ever spent!

5. Somehow my blogroll has transformed from all fashion blogs to mostly photography and wedding blogs in the last few weeks and one of my new favorite daily reads is Kat's Rock n' Roll Bride. A truly unique wedding inspirational website that I know you'll love too! ;)

I hope your Sunday is much sunnier than mine, don't forget to enter the Blowfish shoes giveaway if you haven't already! You still have a few hours left! ;) Happy Sunday!

To Catch a Thief

Dress, Bangle - H&M, Wedges - Asos

It was not my first time in Athens, but it was the first time I´ve really seen the city. I didn´t have huge expectations and I was more than positively surprised. Athens is great! The coast is lined with beautiful beaches, the city is full of culture and history and the people are just sooo genuinly friendly! One of my favorite nights was the one spent in an open air cinema overlooking the Acropolis, in the good company of Grace Kelly, Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock. My soul was shining after watching such a pretty old classic in such a pretty retro place. A must do if you visit Athens!
