1. Friday - Coco Before Chanel
The title says it all... don't expect the fabulous life of Coco Chanel, but rather the stories of a tomboy girl. Slow, boring disappointing. :(
Audrey Tatou is great though.
"This is the story of Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, who begins her life as a headstrong orphan, and through an extraordinary journey becomes the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style."
2. Saturday - The September Issue
I loved it! A documentary of the world of Anna Wintour and the making of the September, 2007 Vogue. Engaging, inspiring, interesting. A must see for all of you fashion addicts out there!
"The September 2007 issue of Vogue magazine weighed nearly five pounds, and was the single largest issue of a magazine ever published. With unprecedented access, The September Issue, directed and produced by R.J. Cutler, tells the story of legendary Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour and her larger-than-life team of editors creating the issue and ruling the world of fashion.
The September Issue won the Grand Jury Prize for Excellence in Cinematography at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. "
3. Sunday - Valentino, the last Emperor
Another great fashion documentary on the history of the Valentino house. Fabulous fabulous clothes!
Have you seen any good movies lately?

Am I the only one who didn't like the Coco movie? :D
i watched coco last week and I have to agree it was whatever, considering how respected of a woman she is they should have kept out the cheap sex scenes and came up with a better ending!

Loved Coco, and I am stalking the September issue at my video store. We have one copy here in Podunk Mississippi. Not very many Vogue lovers sadly so the demand is pretty non-existent, oh did I tell you the new SATC Vogue is out, and there is not one copy to be had here.
love this!
great showcase of the movies that we bloggers hold dear

I like the Coco movie but only b/c I knew what to expect before I saw it. I would LOVE for there to be a Chanel movie that focuses on her as a famous designer. That would be a great film! :)
I also love the Valentino documentary. I want his house!!!
I have yet to see the September Issue and I am dying until it comes in the mail. I have it on my netflix. Yay!
i lOVE Coco Before Chanel, LOVE LOVE LOVE

I saw the Coco Chanel movie too, and I also though it was super boring and not what I expected! I also didnt know that it was all in French until I started watching it....haha
Hi Gabby,
I can only comment on The September Issue movie. I also liked it when watched not too long ago. I mostly liked the way the women were portrayed in the film, powerful, grounded, and dedicated to what they love. I am always fascinated by women who exude passion for life! I am waiting for netflix to have the Coco film on demand and will actually check for Valention film as well. As for suggestions for movies I say "Julie & Julia" is a really nice film to watch. Enjoy :)
I love coco before chanel sad but lovely. I need to watch the others :)
I recently watched the chanel film- how can you say its 'slow, boring and disapointing'?! I love it. Though I do admit I was a bit dissapointed about how you only get to see her collection at the end... Still Audrey Tatou is amazing.
I'm hoping to do a post about it soon:
