Detox Food

I'm happy to report that I not only survived my 10-day detox but by the end I quite enjoyed it as well! The result: -2.5 kg / -5.5 lbs, clean skin, boosted self esteem and all this without starving. I must admit the first few days are always hard. You have to get your head around eating only fruits and veggies and seeds, but once you get accustomed to the idea you can get quite creative and then it really isn't a painful process at all. I re-discovered things like wok vegetables or dried apple sticks and rekindled my love for kiwi, watermelon, peanuts and herbal tea. :)

My favorite detox food was definitely fried broccoli with red onions, dried cranberries and  toasted  sliced almonds. I created this meal based on this recipe, but I cooked the broccoli and left the dressing out! DELICIOUS! It does not sound like a big food invention, but believe me, the taste is heavenly and everything is in perfect harmony. My suggestion, don't be shy with the almonds and cranberries, the more the better! :D

Now that the official detox is done the hard work begins. I have another 3kg / 6 lbs to go before I reach my goal and the only changes I'm planning to make on my diet is that I'll have my small ball of choco cereals in the morning (missed it so much! :)) and will tune up my salads with some feta and occassionally I'll eat some chicken breast as well. My morning latte will be a very welcomed friend as well for sure, but in general I'll try to stay strict to myself! ;)

Any good veggie based recipes you've tried lately?

Looks yummy! I should try the detox... I can never last though. I have gluten sensitives so I 'try' to stay away from it, and choose 2-3 days a week to be meat-free. It's amazing how good you feel when you eat healthy! Tea always helps...I love tea ;)

that looks so delicious I'd eat it even not on a detox! Also if you want a good weight loss tip, at the gym try interval training instead of regular workouts- ie instead of 30 minutes on the elliptical normal, do 5 minute warm up, 30 seconds pumped up to about level 15 and as hard as you can, and then a 2 minute normal, pump up for 30 again, two minute normal... you get the idea. You can work out for the same amount of time (or less) and see wayyyy dramatic results! But you look so great anyways I don't really think it's necessary! xx

Wow, great job with the detox, and congrats on the 5.5! This does use tortilla wraps, so has carbs, but is one of my favorites at the moment.

You can add other veggies if you want (I've added red pepper before) and they are DELICIOUS.

Wow! That's amazing and you can do it...6lbs is nothing, especially when you can eat really good salads like that one! And I agree, you always still need a little chocolate!

oooohhhh... that looks good. I'm trying to limit my carbs, but as I don't usually eat much meat and I'm a bit lactose intolerate it's difficult, ha.

Very inspiring! I think I'm going to do the Arbonne detox!
