Winter Coat Dilemma

While I have more transition coats hanging in my closet than I dare to admit, I have absolutely no idea what to wear for the colder months ahead of us. One of the wardrobe investments I have to make is a decent winter coat as I wore my last one to shreds and gave my secondary one to my sister as a present. I'm looking for something comfortable and warm but stylish at the same time. What's you take on winter coat for 2010/11? Did you get a new one already?

1. Juicy Couture - 349 GBP
2. Rick Owens Shearling Lined Leather Biker Jacket - 3,395 USD
3. Sportmax Camel Coat - 598 GBP
4. Diane von Furstenberg - 264 GBP
5. D&G Sheepskin Lined Parka - 755 GBP
6. Isabel Marant Parka - 820 USD
7. PRPS Parka - 639 EUR
8, 9 & 10. Montcler - 630 - 1000 GBP

Ooh, definitely a camel coat! I can't get enough of them this year. My closet has been stuffed with black for EVER so camel is a nice change to me. Plus... I can't quite get on the military green train just yet. I'm sure I'll be late to the party. :)

Not a fan of puffer jackets in general...make me feel bigger than I am. LOVE LOVE LOVE all the camel choices...if only I had unlimited funds...The Juicy one is reasonable...hmmmmm. Great post!

I already have a military parka that I love -- it was actually my dad's REAL military parka so it has all the extra whistles and bows to it! Oh, but I would seriously welcome that Rick Owens in my closet and on my back :)

I needed a new coat this season and I already got my camel coat at Zara. They have some great choices. I think you should go for eaither a camel coat or a parka but you cannot really compare them, you kind of need both - the camel coat would be your stylish and elegant outerwear and the parka would be its more casual friend. Yes, they would be friends in your closet ... hahaha

ooo one of each! ;) Ive got a really old brown leather flying jacket that i normally wear to the air shows and whatdoyouknoe apparently they are in fashion over here! Thats me sorted! haha

These are all great but I have to say, numbers 5 and 6 look like they would be the coziest ones, since they're longer. Of course, the leather biker jacket (#2) looks quite warm too, with the big collar.

can i have one from each category please?! :)

Love this post.so so many gorgeous coats about it is a nightmare to choose! I have just added a gorgeous stone coloured one from Zara to my collection as the colour looked a bit softer on me than the strong camel! I also love the khaki green and fur parkas about, fur coats are always a good investement too....cant wait to see what you pick.Katie.xx

I love the third one, the fifth is great for the season, and I hate the look of puffer jackets, but a Northface is a must!

I picked up 2 new coats this season and they both came in with a weird sulfer smell so I returned them. Now I think I'm just going to work with what I have from last year.

Go with the always classy camel. I love numbers 2 and 4 because they are so fashion forward, but number 3 will last you forever because the cut is so classic. Camel can be paired with anything, while the military look is very specific and puffers can leave you looking like a constant ski bunny.
